One of the most amazing things about using a Celebrant to conduct your wedding ceremony is the fact that you can hold it anywhere you like – including outdoors – which just happens to be the place we all love best. Don’t get me wrong, we are very happy to deliver your unique ceremony indoors too, but being AltarNative Celebrants, we love a ceremony which includes a bit of nature. So if that is what you are looking for, look no further.
As Celebrants we aren’t limited by location as Registrars are, so we have a huge amount of flexibility. If you would like to have your ceremony in your own (or a friend / family member’s) garden we can do that. Alternatively you might have a special affinity with woodland, open fields, rivers or mountains and long to hold your ceremony there. I recently conducted a ceremony for a couple in a Tree Cathedral, where we included the natural elements and everything happened within a circle of willow.
You might want to continue the theme by having the reception outdoors; maybe sitting on hay bales in a barn, in a yurt or tent, under trees with fairy lights, a picnic in a field or on a beach or in your favourite pub’s garden.
For drama, you might want to consider having your ceremony at night, with candles and stars to light the way. Or what about having your ceremony in front of a bonfire on Midsummer’s Day or arriving by boat on an island. All of these ideas, and so many more, are made possible if you use AltarNative Celebrants.
We want to make sure the things that are most meaningful to you are included in your special day. Perhaps you have a special bond with an animal and you’d like to include them in some way. You might have always dreamt of making your arrival by walking through a field of wildflowers with your guests waiting in a clearing or want to stand on a cliff top with the sea raging below.
You will need to think about contingency plans in case of bad (or extremely hot) weather but that’s all part of the fun. And, after all, the weather is just nature in another form, so maybe your love for the great outdoors extends to rain and snow in winter, which could be just as beautiful if that’s how you choose to view it.
Talk to us at AltarNatives and we will do everything we can to make your outdoor ceremony everything you wish.
